  • blog roomies pick up after themselves

I participate in the Blog Explosion site traffic program. Basically. you visit other people’s blogs and in turn your blog is randomly shown to them at a ratio of 2:1. I’m not too impressed with the the service most days – it seems to me that I’ve visited far more blogs than have had visitors sent my way.

The flip-side is that I’m exposed to a number of different bloggers and their writings. Some you wish you hadn’t, but there’s always a number of excellent blogs out there. Per the BE terms of service, you’re supposed to spend a minimum of 30 seconds on each blog. I’ve found lately that I’m spending on average 5-10 minutes on the bulk of the sites I’m visiting.

The best thing is the Rent my blog service. For a pre-set number of credits, you can bid on space at another bloggers site. Some bloggers will write a brief blurb about your blog, while others just offer a corner of their world to hang out in. There’s a lot of stiff competition for rental units and you can only hope that something about your own blog speaks to the person renting space on their site.

Last week, I rented space at Caylynn’s Contemplations. Caylynn is a military spouse living in Germany. She’s a running nut and blogs about her progress, her experiences in a foreign country, and the Canadian Forces. She’s now a daily stop on my blog reading trips. I recommend you take a few minutes to stop by and say hello.

This week, I’m hanging out at I Will Not Eat the Darkness. I’m planning on spending a bit of time getting to know my new roomie and hope you’ll check out her blog and say hello.

Yeah, I know that renter’s don’t usually post about the places they’re hanging out. Face it, I’ve always been different and that why you love me…
