  • Jayne Hat knit-a-thon results

     The Pure Speculation Festival Jayne Hat knit-a-thon was a resounding success! It was a long weekend of cramped fingers and smiling customers. When the knitting needles were put down our volunteer knitter had managed to finish 4 Jayne Hats.
    The @ABbrowncoats twitter account shared photos of the hats as they were being produced and we’ve uploaded them to our Facebook Fan page.

  • ~ Nov 2011 Jayne Hat Knitting Lessons in Edmonton ~

    We are looking for people to knit Jayne Hats for us to sell at conventions and Can’t Stop the Serenity (CSTS) events. Proceeds from the hat sales help fund our annual CSTS event in Edmonton each June. Fundraising efforts by the Alberta Browncoats benefit Equality Now, Kids Need to Read, and the Edmonton Youth Emergency Shelter Society.

    Our dear friends, the Austin Browncoats, have a wonderful idea that we fully intend to swipe capitalize on. For the past few years they have run a Jayne Hat Knit-A-Thon as part of their Dragon*Con convention booth.

    The call went out. The submissions were received. Now it’s time to have your say.
    Voting has opened for the 2012 global design for Can’t Stop the Serenity promotional materials.  The winning design is made into Tshirts, posters, and all manner of publicity.

    YESS: $1615.18
    Equality Now: $4845.53

     
    This year we saw a 35 % increase in attendance and nearly doubled last year’s total of $3773! In two years we’ve raised $11093.

  • Auction Item: Serenity Logo Painting

    Those of you who attended CSTS 2010 in Edmonton will remember the shiny Jayne Hat keychains we had available for sale. The keychains were made by one of our favourite Browncoats, Natalie Dempsey. This year, in addition to her awesome hats (keychain and large sizes this year), Natalie is donating beautiful Serenity logo paintings to our auction.
