  • Update: CSTS Edmonton 2010

Can’t Stop the Serenity took off without a hitch (ok, maybe a few small minor ones) in Edmonton on June 27, 2010. Our small crowd of guests were bubbly and excited – nearly as excited as our poor planning committee. I think they might just have been going round the bend.
We are pleased to announce our CSTS 2010 donation totals (in Canadian $$ of course): $2624.75 will be going to Equality Now, $917.91 will be going to the [...]

  • Welcome Christie Communications

The Alberta Browncoat Society is thrilled to welcome our newest event sponsor, Christie Communcations.
Christie Communications’ niche in the multimedia marketplace is to develop highly interactive, media rich, intensely tested programs. Their main areas of service are Interactive Design, eLearning Creation, Learner Management Systems, 3D Immersive Development, and Media Production.
The team at Christie Communications are heavily involved in the community and do good (or misbehave) in ways that make us all proud to be associated with them.

  • Nom, nom, nom

Can’t Stop the Serenity is going to be chock full of fun filled movie screenings, costume contests and a silent auction. It’s a long day and we know people will get hungry.
Thanks to the generous and talented folks at Sweeties Cafe Bakery and Pastry, we’ll have snacks on hand to feed all our hungry event attendees between screening Serenity and Browncoats: Redemption.  We can’t thank them enough for stepping up to the plate with yummy cookies and shortbread which will [...]

  • Marian Call: Bootleg

Marian Call recently played a show in Edmonton and regaled us all with her story telling and shiny folk songs. This autographed copy of her CD, Bootleg, has been inscribed with a special CSTS Edmonton 2010 message.
    Donor: Semper Family

  • Castle: Heat Wave – Autographed Copy

We have two copies of the first Castle TV (ABC) tie-in book, Heat Wave. These copies have been autographed by our beloved Cap’t Tightpants (and Castle star), Nathan Fillion.
One copy will be included in the auction items for Can’t Stop the Serenity while another copy will be included in the separate Kids Need to Read (KNTR) auction items.
    Donor: Semper Family

  • Browncoats: Redemption

The Alberta Browncoats Society is thrilled to announce that Edmonton is one of the seven cities that will receive a pre-view copy of the fan made movie Browncoats: Redemption.  We’ll be screening the movie following Serenity on June 27th.
Browncoats: Redemption takes place three months after the events on Miranda and we find Captain Laura Matthews and the crew of Redemption unintentionally thrown into a situation that some view as the potential catalyst for the second unified rise of the Independents [...]

  • CSTS Global Swag Ordered

Thanks to everyone who purchased a tshirt, hoodie or Done The Impossible DVD. Our order has been placed. Pre-purchased goodies will be available on the day of the event.

  • Tentative Event Schedule

We realize that other events are taking place in our fair city on the same day that we planned to host our CSTS event (damn you Lucas!). Some browncoats have expressed torn loyalties and have asked for an event schedule. As the event is still 2 months away and we’re awaiting some final words/permission, we can’t give you a play-by-play of the day’s events just yet. However, we can provide a tentative schedule.
